Although the fact that fifty-eight percent of the illegal immigrant population is from Mexico, it does not mean that all of the Hispanics in United States are aliens. It is also stated in CNN.com, “In 2010, about 1.04 million people received legal permanent resident status. Of those, 139,120 were born in Mexico, 70,863 were born in China, and 58,173 were born in the Philippines”. This is the proof that some of them are legal residents.
I feel sorry for this stereotype, since some Hispanics really try their best to be legal residents and seek brighter future in United States. However, some people still see them as “law breakers” (illegal immigrants). Thus, this is just a stereotype.
